What updates will I receive on my sample status?
Generally, the first update you will receive is the emailing of your sample analyses report(s).
What is the Sample ID and where do I get this?
Sample ID is the unique term or name you give an individual sample, thus allowing you to know which sample is which when the sample report(s) are returned to you. For example, “rose bush” or “apple tree”.
Can I dropoff the sample to the laboratory?
The laboratory lobby is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on days that the Texas A&M University campus is open. This includes closure due to weather or early dismissals.
How much water do need to supply for testing?
We strongly recommend 16-20 ounces.
What kind of container do you recommend for my water sample?
Purchased drinking water bottles (16-20 ounce), tripled rinsed with your water is a good and easy way of containing your sample(s).
How do I sample my water?
Our submittal form provides sampling instructions. For wells, insure the water has been pumped long enough to insure all water has been removed from the well casing, thus allowing the water to represent the water in the aquifer. Samples collected in a home will have some differences in chemistry due to internal plumbing, changes in temperature and other factors.
Is my water safe to drink?
Our laboratory is not a drinking water laboratory and we do not perform analyses to determine suitability for drinking water.
Do you test for pesticides?
We do not test for pesticides in any samples.
